Dénéréaz

Delphine Dénéréaz is a visual artist born in 1989 in the South of France. She currently lives and works in Marseille. In 2013, she earned a Master's degree in Textile Design from La Cambre in Brussels. Dénéréaz specializes in working with reclaimed textiles, employing the traditional medieval technique of tapis de lirette to recycle and repurpose materials.

Through her work, Delphine Dénéréaz weaves immersive, dreamlike settings in vibrant hues, where art history and ancestral cultures merge with the signs and artifacts of contemporary society. Her universe overflows with a multiplicity of ornamental patterns, intertwining personal references and collective symbols drawn from urban landscapes and digital culture. Delphine Dénéréaz thus explores the narrative dimension of weaving, using this craft to stitch personal and collective stories. She also shares her expertise through collective workshops. Her works, adorned with symbols, emojis, and brand logos—many of which she collaborates with—examine the excess of images in our visual culture, reflecting the paradoxes of our current modes of representation and communication.
