Dietmar Weihrauch is a trained carpenter working in his sculptural furniture workshop since 1993.  His objects and sculptural furniture are abstractions of impressions collected while traveling and exploring his immediate surroundings. By selecting the appropriate woods and techniques, he recreated his discoveries and observations. His goal is to create objects that inhabit the space they are placed in. 

His work has been shown at various galleries, exhibitions and trade fairs in Germany and abroad: Hanover, Niewegen, Bochum, Frankfurt, Amsterdam to name just a few. In 2017, he exhibited at the Cheongju International Craft Biennale in South Korea, and in 2016 I presented my objects at the juried MKG Arts and Crafts Fair at the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg. His sculptural furniture piece The Sentinel was distinguished with the FORM# Award at Tendence 2015 in Frankfurt.
