Laia García Adell (Barcelona, 1997) is a Catalan artist currently at ‘La Butxaca Màgica’, a self-managed project founded by Rita Sala (Barcelona, 1994), also a painter, which consists of a shared art studio and has a casual and non-institutional exhibition program, located in the cultural core of Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona.

In 2018, Garcia graduated in the degree of ‘Artes aplicadas a la pared’ at ‘Llotja, escola superior de disseny i art’, Barcelona, and since then she has been developing her artistic practice focusing mainly on oil painting and charcoal drawings.

His major influences come from fantastic and grotesque art, as well as traditional masters of oil painting and contemporary artists. Her works often deal with contrast and ambivalence of the image: she is interested in technique but also in emotions and their irreverence, she now loves softness and then overlays it with abrupt brushstrokes.
