Rydell

Leo Rydell Jost is a multidisciplinary artist who merges illustration, design, and creative direction into a body of work that moves between the visual and the functional. His approach is defined by a colorful and sensual aesthetic, with a style he describes as "disordered order," where spontaneity and intuition guide his creative process.

His career took off in 2014 with the release of Colored Dudes, a book of homoerotic illustrations that quickly sold out and earned him recognition as a finalist in the Dual Figure category of the Tom of Finland Foundation. Since then, he has expanded his practice into interior and object design, standing out for his ability to transform illustrations into functional pieces such as rugs and decorative objects.

Among his most acclaimed works is the Botanica rug collection, handcrafted in Nepal from Tibetan wool. These unique pieces blend studies of the human body and nature and have been exhibited in galleries such as LA Studio Interiorismo in Madrid.

Jost has also collaborated with prominent figures in publishing and fashion, such as Luis Venegas, and participated in projects like The Rain In Spain Stays Mainly In The Plain by J.W. Anderson. His work has been shown in renowned venues, including the Colette gallery in Paris.

He is currently continuing to explore new forms of expression, working on homeware and furniture design projects, always with the goal of creating pieces that invite joy and emotional connection.
