Sven

Jansse

Sven Jansse is an architect and designer based in Rotterdam. He has been running his studio for nearly a decade, working across a broad range of scales and typologies — from exhibition design and private residences to lamps, carpets, and bags.

With a background in architecture and experience at renowned offices such as OMA (Rem Koolhaas), his work is driven by a fascination with the built environment in all its forms. Often regarded as mere backdrop to daily life, these everyday surroundings become a source of inspiration. Through subtle references, reinterpretations, and unexpected observations, he elevates the overlooked to create something entirely new.

In 2023, he expanded his practice with the opening of Spazio Viruly, a gallery and experimental platform for design, art, and furniture in Rotterdam-West. The space brings together contemporary design pieces with historic, one-of-a-kind works, creating a layered and thoughtful dialogue between past and present.

Jansse’s work has been exhibited internationally at venues and events such as Milan Design Week, Collectible Brussels, the Rotterdam Design Biennale, Art Rotterdam, and the Venice Architecture Biennale.
