Víctor

González

Víctor González holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Seville. He has lived and worked in Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom, where he has exhibited and developed various projects.

His work intuitively explores the codes of pictorial representation by interpreting cultural elements from his surroundings, ranging from architecture to ornamental materials and objects. Through a personal lens shaped by forms and sensations, he pulls a thread from which painting begins to reveal itself. His compositions suggest spaces and atmospheres assembled in a kind of biogeometric logic, inviting the viewer’s subconscious to complete the pictorial image.

In addition to traditional painting formats, his practice expands into other lines of work, exploring the language of painting through different techniques and materials, a search for painting’s internal language, approached from the outside.

In 2024, he was selected as a finalist for the BMW Painting Award, and his work has been shown at institutions such as the Royal Academy in London and the Fundación Unicaja Center in Seville.

His work has received recognition through grants and awards including the VIII UNIA Painting Prize from the International University of Andalusia, an Honorable Mention in the First Artistic Creation Prize from the Seville Provincial Council/CICUS, an artist residency at the Antonio Gala Foundation, and participation in the XIV Encontro de Artistas Novos of the Xunta de Galicia.

He has recently held solo and group exhibitions at MPA (Madrid), Vangar (Valencia), Barrera Baldán (Seville), and 6a (Mallorca). In September 2025, he will present his first solo exhibition at Sorondo Projects, as part of Barcelona Gallery Weekend.
