Amalie

Jakobsen

Amalie Jakobsen (b. 1989, Copenhagen, Denmark) is a Berlin-based sculptor whose practice explores material transformation, deep time, and the relationship between natural and human-made systems through sculpture, installation, and public art. She received a BA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths, University of London, in 2014. Recent and forthcoming exhibitions include HEART – Herning Museum of Contemporary Art, Denmark, and CCA Andratx, Mallorca. Selected solo exhibitions include Efraín López Gallery, New York; Hans Alf Gallery, Copenhagen; Future Gallery, Berlin; Gether Contemporary, Copenhagen; Gl. Strand, Copenhagen; and Politikens Forhal, Copenhagen. Her work has also been exhibited at ARKEN Museum of Modern Art, Berghain as part of STUDIO BERLIN organized by the Boros Collection, Andréhn-Schiptjenko, Stockholm, Nikolaj Kunsthal, and the Stefan Gierowski Foundation, Warsaw. Jakobsen has realized public commissions throughout Denmark and France, and her work is held in the collections of ARKEN Museum of Modern Art, the Ny Carlsberg Foundation, the Danish Arts Foundation, Art Museum Brandts, Randers Art Museum, and the Stefan Gierowski Foundation, among other public and private collections.
