André Wendland (Germany, 1995) lives and works in Karlsruhe. His large-scale oil paintings are inspired by the visual language of cartoons, blending childhood memories with everyday observations. Drawing influence from animated series such as Family Guy and Bob's Burgers, Wendland translates the flat color fields and dynamic movement of animation into vibrant, humorous compositions. Working from digital sketches created on his iPad, he develops playful characters and immersive scenes in bold fluorescent colors.
