Barandun
Bianca Barandun is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice moves between printmaking, drawing and sculpture, exploring the expressive possibilities of material experimentation and abstraction. Through processes of layering, assembling and improvisation, she develops a visual language where gesture, rhythm and structure coexist in dynamic tension.
Her works are shaped by an intuitive dialogue with materials, allowing chance, imperfection and instability to become active elements within the composition. Drawing from architecture, memory and everyday forms, Barandun constructs abstract systems that oscillate between the organic and the geometric, the familiar and the ambiguous. Color, movement and fragmentation function as emotional and spatial devices, generating compositions that suggest both intimacy and collective interaction.
Underlying her practice is an interest in social behavior, group formation and the complexities of human relationships. Rather than offering fixed narratives, her works operate as open visual structures that invite association, perception and emotional response.
Barandun has exhibited internationally in institutions and galleries across Switzerland, Germany, the United Kingdom and Spain, including Bündner Kunstmuseum Chur, Kunsthalle Glarus, Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery Berlin and Marc Bibiloni, Madrid.
