Kaori Yabusaki develops a sculptural practice centred on ceramics, exploring the relationship between material transformation, organic structures and bodily perception. Her work approaches clay as a living material capable of retaining gesture, tension and memory, creating forms that appear to grow, open and evolve through process.

Combining delicate surfaces with strong spatial presence, Yabusaki constructs pieces where fragility and resistance coexist. Through restrained compositions, she allows texture, void, light and shadow to become active elements within the work itself. Some sculptures emphasise the silent, mineral quality of ceramic whiteness, while others incorporate subtle pigment traces reminiscent of branching systems, veins or internal cartographies.
