Llambias

Pep Llambías (Mallorca, 1954) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans sculpture, installation and visual poetry, exploring the relationship between language, matter and perception. Through the use of text, neon, wood, metal and found materials, Llambías constructs works that oscillate between conceptual rigor and emotional intimacy, transforming words into physical and spatial experiences.

Central to his practice is the poetic potential of language: fragments of text, illuminated phrases and symbolic forms become vehicles through which memory, absence, desire and human vulnerability are articulated. His installations often create immersive environments where light and materiality invite a slow and contemplative engagement, blurring the boundaries between sculpture, poetry and architecture.

Deeply rooted in Mediterranean culture while maintaining a universal conceptual language, Llambías’s work reflects on the fragility of communication and the emotional weight carried by words and objects. Across decades of practice, he has developed a singular visual vocabulary where silence, symbolism and atmosphere play a central role.

His work is part of major public and private collections, including Fundación La Caixa, Es Baluard Museu d’Art Contemporani de Palma, Colección Jumex, the Coca-Cola Collection and Basma Al Sulaiman Museum of Contemporary Art. Llambías has exhibited extensively internationally, with solo exhibitions in Spain, Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands and Australia, among others
