Krauze

Perla Krauze transforms natural stone into a feminine presence that holds and traces gentle narratives of passage. She brings together volcanic rock and obsidian from Pedregal, stone rubbings and pink marble from Puebla with resin, delicate metal flowers, and touches of gold leaf, jigsawing these elements into pathways and poetic puzzles. Her miniature staircases invite us to enter her world, while her paintings gently return us to the land on which we stand.

Krauze’s work is the result of explorations across different environments. The artist collects common elements from nature which, through subjective and personal motivations, become part of the material and visual documentation of her inner search processes and surroundings. Krauze works across a wide range of disciplines and formats, from drawings to immersive installations, generating both intimate and bodily experiences that communicate her creative process while establishing a horizontal relationship between herself and the viewer. Her pieces are the echo and synthesis of the correspondence between internal and external discoveries, resulting in poetic and enigmatic installations and objects produced with materials such as stone, metal, wax, water, and textiles.
