Formation Gallery is located in the heart of Vesterbro, Copenhagen, and is dedicated to presenting and developing contemporary art by primarily emerging Danish and international artists. The gallery operates as a dynamic platform for artistic practices that engage with materiality, perception, spatial awareness, and narrative structures, often working in the subtle tension between the sensuous and the conceptual. Presenting 7–8 exhibitions annually, Formation approaches each project with a strong curatorial framework. Exhibitions are conceived not merely as presentations, but as carefully constructed spatial dialogues in which works are activated through the viewer’s movement and physical presence. The gallery works across media – including painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, and site-responsive practices and places particular emphasis on artists who experiment with materials and expand the boundaries of their own visual language.
