"Cyclopea"
This body of work explores rawness and simplicity in both form and material. The aim is to create pieces that feel timeless—objects that could belong to the distant past, yet remain relevant in the future. Timelessness becomes a tool to reach what is essential and enduring.
Light and shadow play a crucial role. Depending on how light is cast, a piece may transform entirely. The surrounding space is considered an active part of the work, silently shaping and interacting with the object itself.
A concept often present is what can be described as synthesized nature: elements from the natural world are reduced to their most minimal expression. Through both sculpture and painting, subtle landscapes emerge—suggested, abstract, and intimate.
The artist’s connection with clay began early, growing up around a traditional ceramic workshop in the center of Palma, run by her mother. Over time, the practice evolved toward a more raw, abstract approach, moving away from the decorative. Painting appeared later as a natural extension of this search—a way to expand the conversation with clay and experiment with new mediums.
The work also includes stone (marés) and wood, materials that offer their own resistance and character. In the ongoing dialogue with each material, the pursuit remains the same: to uncover the essential.
