Marina Mar贸n
29.05 - 28.05.2026
Marina Marón will present Place of Places at Sa Punta des Molí in Sant Antoni de Portmany as part of the OFF Program of CAN Art Fair 2026. Since 2022, this initiative has promoted the work of Balearic artists through exhibitions held across the Pityusic Islands, between Formentera and Ibiza, with the support of Paya Hotels.
Place of Places
The island of Ibiza has been home to many different civilizations throughout history and remains a meeting point for diverse cultures, traditions and ways of thinking. This exhibition brings together distinct spaces that coexist within a single place, each emerging from simple concepts that gradually acquire complexity as they become more specific. In this sense, the project echoes the architecture of Ibiza itself: rich in variation, yet grounded in essential principles of form and scale closely tied to the human experience.
Place of Places explores the simplicity of form and its many possibilities, creating scenes in which architectures and atmospheres compose distinct worlds, like islands suspended in space. The exhibition brings together oil paintings and ceramic sculptures, all created on the island of Ibiza under the influence of its landscapes, architecture and colours.
Marina Marón (Madrid, 1994) has exhibited her work at venues including Ses Dotze Naus (Ibiza), Can Pep Rey (Ibiza) and Galería Antonio Machón (Madrid), among others. She is currently developing a project for the second phase of the Artistic Residency (Open Call 2025–2026) at the Ses Dotze Naus Foundation in Ibiza. The resulting exhibition will be presented at the foundation in June 2026.
For the fourth consecutive year, Paya Hotels reaffirms its strong commitment to Balearic artistic creation and to strengthening the visibility of the local cultural sector through its support of the OFF CAN 2026 Program. This initiative not only promotes Balearic talent, but also seeks to connect Ibiza and Formentera through contemporary art.

Marina Mar贸n
Born in Madrid in 1994, Marina Marón has lived and worked in Ibiza for the past six years.
She graduated in Set Design from the Royal School of Dramatic Arts (RESAD) in Madrid and completed a Master's degree in Fine Arts at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. Her practice focuses on the investigation of space from an abstract perspective, creating dreamlike structures that contain abstractions within them. In her paintings, she explores ideas through the more fantastical possibilities offered by the medium, creating unreal spaces and connections between them, with some gestures forming abstractions and others, of a more architectural nature, framing them from within. Her ceramic sculptures are composed of movable elements that introduce playfulness and suggest a first level of interaction and tactile engagement. Across all media, she maintains a strong interest in the primary and primitive qualities of form, seeking to create self sustaining scenes that exist for light and for grace.
Marón is currently developing a spatial project for the second phase of the Ses Dotze Naus Foundation Artistic Residency (Open Call 2025–2026) in Ibiza, beginning on May 18. The project synthesizes and reinterprets aspects of traditional Ibizan rural architecture, adapting them to the realities of contemporary life. The exhibition will open in June 2026 at the Ses Dotze Naus Foundation in Ibiza alongside fellow residents Gala Knorr and Diogo da Cruz.
