"CONFLUX" at Estudio Laterna

In Conflux, Carlota Pérez de Castro, Pablo Linsambarth, Sol Bailey Barker and Patricia Paz present distinct practices that converge in a shared understanding of painting and sculpture as open processes. Rather than working through representation, the four artists operate in a space where image, object and gesture function as records of experience, whether emotional, material or narrative.

The works move between the abstract and the recognizable, between the intimate and the symbolic. In some cases, painting appears as a field of perception and energy; in others, as a system of incomplete signs or scenes that resist closure. Sculpture, in turn, introduces a direct relationship with matter, understood as something active, with memory and the capacity for transformation. As a whole, the exhibition does not aim for a single narrative, but rather a point of intersection where different approaches generate friction, continuity and a shared reading.
