Elizabeth Rose Langford at Olas Gallery

Olas Gallery presents HORSES, a new body of work by Elizabeth Rose Langford created using pigments sourced in Ibiza. The exhibition takes place in a private space in Dalt Vila, whose architecture and historical context form part of the exhibition’s approach.

The work stems from the artist’s long standing relationship with horses, understood not as an illustrative subject but as presence and gesture. Through large scale paintings, Langford translates this experience into dynamic forms where movement and material are directly connected. Her practice is based on the use of natural pigments derived from the island’s الأرض rich in iron and ochres, employing traditional techniques that position color as a central element.

The works function as active surfaces in which pigment does not simply describe, but constructs the image through its own materiality. In this sense, the horses appear as vehicles of energy and rhythm, linking the pictorial gesture with physical and organic processes.

The exhibition opens on Friday, June 26 by invitation, and can be visited in the following days by appointment, proposing a site specific experience that connects work, place and process.
