IBICENCO XI: Time for Reflection

“But, why are you living? That is what you must find out. That is Faith”. B.K.S. Iyengar

SILENCE

In a world saturated with a record-share-circulate-consume culture, we suggest a space to stop, observe, meditate and generate. A dialogue on how to face a crumbling political world and the social partition of the times we are living.

Art should destroy anything that is put in front of it in order to create a new paradigm.

When art is comfortable, culture collapses. It creates the same thing again and again, and again and again. Another exhibition, another vernissage.

“IBICENCO XI: Time for reflection” is not an Art Show, it is a social experiment centered on the art of conversation.

Six seats and a round table. Talk or silence. Our eyes face others with intention. Sincere demolition of Jungian Persona in the search of a more intimate exchange, where nothing is to be gained, where no prize is given for the entertainment performance.

We throwback to that “Ibicenco” state of mind which we postulated eleven editions ago, back in 2015 when this yearly experience started. That flare, that feeling that brought us to this Balearic island in the search of a more grounded existence, connected to the spirit of time, the nature and the freedom which seems to be vanishing with the imposition of rushed agendas, an escalating despair. Without the anxiety of belonging to a competitive rat race.

What are we disputing for? Attention? Or are we ready for a real encounter with The Self?

Look at yourself.

What do you see?

Are you here?

Are you not?

What is your expectation throughout this construction?

What is the Future?

What is the Past?

What is mingling in your soul?

What is… you?

What is Other?

What is Me?

Think about it.

Or don’t.

Feel it.

Is anything there?
