ME Ibiza

26.06.2026

Once again, ME Ibiza joins CAN Art Fair Ibiza as one of its strategic partners. Its presence and longstanding relationship with the fair help extend the experience of contemporary art across different spaces on the island, turning encounters with artworks and artists into something that happens beyond the exhibition halls.

During the week of the fair, ME Ibiza will host a dinner bringing together artists, gallerists, collectors and friends of CAN to celebrate contemporary art. The event will also serve as the setting for an ephemeral intervention by Alina de Laforcade, conceived specifically for the occasion.

The project forms part of the artistic program developed by ME Ibiza and curated by Contemporary Art Now in the months leading up to the fair, which began with an exhibition by Magnus Reid. Two distinct projects that share a common ambition: to integrate art into everyday life and create contexts in which artworks can be discovered from new perspectives.

Through this initiative, ME Ibiza continues to strengthen its commitment to contemporary creation, transforming its spaces on the island into places where art proposes new ways of experiencing and inhabiting Ibiza.

Magnus Reid

Magnus Reid

Magnus Reid (b. 1989) is an Australian multidisciplinary artist whose practice centres on painting and sculpture. His work explores ritual, nature, repetition and the human condition within old and new ritualistic practice.

While painting in oils, he often uses reclaimed materials, off cuts and construction methods to create strong material presence in both painting and sculpture.

Magnus lives and works in Mallorca, Spain.

Alina de Laforcade

Alina de Laforcade

Aline de Laforcade presents "Bodies of Refuge", an installation that brings together woven forms inspired by traditional Ibizan architecture and suspended sculptural shelters made from natural fibres, netting and reclaimed textiles. Rooted in the idea of shelter as a fundamental human need, the project reflects on belonging, displacement and housing precarity through fragile structures that evoke temporary habitats and nomadic forms of dwelling. Based in Ibiza, the French artist explores the relationship between landscape, memory and cultural transmission through textile sculpture, handmade paper and installation. Drawing on field research and natural materials, her work investigates the visible and invisible histories embedded within place.
