"Resting Matter" at Gathering

The current exhibition at Gathering, "Resting Matter", features works by Iván Estrada and Garth Evans, opening on Saturday 23 May at Gathering Ibiza.

"Resting Matter" brings together two sculptors whose abstract works interrogate questions of materiality, the industrial and the organic. Garth Evans is a pioneering figure in the development of British sculpture, having led a deeply experimental career which saw him continually investigate the possibilities of medium and form. Iván Estrada is an artist from Guadalajara, Mexico, whose work leads an inquiry into the products of industrial processes and metallurgy, proposing a radical revision in the binary between the mechanical and the natural.

CAN Local is an initiative by CAN Art Fair Ibiza designed to highlight the cultural, artistic and exhibition projects taking place across the island during the fair, helping to connect and strengthen Ibiza’s cultural ecosystem. The promotion of the CAN Local program is supported by Ocean Drive Talamanca.
