Stefan BrĂ¼ggemann at Museo MACE
20.06 - 15.11.2026
Stefan Brüggemann presents Cel d’Or at the Museu d’Art Contemporani d’Eivissa, conceived as a site specific intervention throughout the Sala de Armas. The artist, who lives and works between Ibiza, London and Mexico City, develops a practice linked to conceptual and postconceptual art, using language, appropriation and minimal structures as tools to question meaning and alter the perception of reality.
In this exhibition, Brüggemann transforms the space into a discursive environment where architecture, light and perception become active components of the work. The intervention is constructed through a play between the visible and the hidden, between manifestation and appearance, altering both the semantics of the space and its temporal experience. Walls, columns and windows are incorporated as elements within an installation that turns the Sala de Armas into a large scenographic object, open to new readings and associations.
The relationship between interior and exterior occupies a central place within the proposal. Natural light and views towards the outside function as surfaces of continuous exchange, generating a dialogue between the exhibition space and its surroundings. Through this appropriation of architecture, Brüggemann proposes a contemplative and introspective experience in which the viewer can freely move through the space and activate different forms of perception, both conscious and subconscious.
