Floro
Iván Floro (b. 1993, Barcelona) is a painter who emerged on the national and international art scene at a very young age. Working in a pictorial language close to Impressionism, he engages with versatile and fresh subject matter that reflects his belonging to the generation of the 1990s. Seriousness and irony intertwine in his work to evoke childhood memories or images of the present infused with references to countercultural currents.
Among his most recent exhibitions and collaborations are a solo show at SC Gallery (Bilbao, 2025); Flamenco los Leones (Madrid, 2024–2023); and participation in group exhibitions such as Stripes at Galería La Causa (Madrid, 2023); Nouvelle Scène Impressionniste Espagnole (Grenoble and Lyon, 2023); Erretratu at SC Gallery (Bilbao, 2022); and UVNT Art Fair with SC Gallery, where his work received the Nadine Foundation Acquisition Award (Madrid, 2022). Earlier highlights include Eros: Your Body as an Excuse at the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM), Barcelona (2020), curated by Golucho (Miguel Ángel Mayo), as well as Creença (2018, Berga, Barcelona), Tapia (2019, Barcelona), and Homeless (2019, Miami, United States).
He has also collaborated with major cultural and commercial partners such as Sony and C. Tangana, contributing to the visual development of the album cover and singles for El Madrileño (2021), as well as projects with Alejandro Sanz (2022), Bershka (2022), Netflix (2022), and Spotify (2023).
Several of his murals can be found across Spain, as well as in the United States, Italy, and Egypt.
