Gonzalez

Juana González holds a Fine Arts degree from the Complutense University of Madrid. Her work has been shown at a range of venues in Spain and abroad, including Sala Robayera (Cantabria), the Museo de la Ciudad de Móstoles, the University of Alicante Museum, and the Musée des Beaux-Arts in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. She has received recognition through an honorary mention at the ABC Painting and Photography Awards (2003), the Contemporary Art Encounters of the Juan Gil-Albert Alicante Institute of Culture (2012), El Circuito Franqueado at Casa Franca in Madrid (2015), and the 8th Encontro Artistas Novos in Santiago de Compostela (2018).

Juana González works primarily in painting and drawing. Her large-scale canvases depict figures engaged in enigmatic tasks, arranged within complex and highly original compositions. Her practice draws on expressionism, surrealism, and narrative figuration.
