Founded in 1989 in La Laguna, Tenerife, Artizar Gallery is a contemporary art space that now also operates from Madrid. A cultural reference point in the Canary Islands, the gallery promotes local, national, and international artists — with a particular focus on Cuban art — through exhibitions, art fairs, biennials, and other curatorial projects. In doing so, it acts as a bridge between artistic contexts and geographies, much as the Canary Islands themselves have historically done.
