Carlota

Pérez de Castro

Carlota Pérez de Castro (Madrid, 1998) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work unfolds as a deep emotional and pictorial investigation. Through painting, performance, and body movement, she explores rhythm, gesture, and the visceral relationship between emotion and matter. Although her practice integrates performative and body-based elements, painting remains the core of her artistic language — a living territory where feeling takes form through color, vibration, and movement.

From an early age, Carlota cultivated an intimate dialogue with color and gesture, developing a visual language that moves fluidly between figuration and abstraction. Her canvases are not mere aesthetic compositions, but emotional landscapes that question how sensitivity, intuition, and rhythm can be translated into form. For her, painting is a way of thinking and feeling simultaneously — a process of emotional research that unfolds through each stroke.

Recognized as the youngest artist to exhibit at the Palacio de Cibeles and as the founder of the movement Exposición Andante, she has presented her work internationally in cities such as New York, Paris, and Milan, challenging the boundaries of contemporary art. Her career includes exhibitions in institutions such as the Miró Foundation, the Palacio de Cibeles, and the Conde Duque Museum. She has also performed at the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia and collaborated on projects such as Madrid Design Week, always placing emotional depth and pictorial dynamism at the center of her creative practice.

In 2025, Forbes included her in its 30 Under 30 list, recognizing her as one of the emerging voices redefining the language of contemporary painting from Spain.
