Fidalgo
Ela Fidalgo (Palma de Mallorca, 1993) has developed a unique language using fabrics and embroidery combined with acrylics and wax. From a universe filled with questions about human behaviour, beyond the realms of everyday life and thought, Fidalgo gives form to emotions. All her processes are devoted to caring for the individual, their reactions and behaviours.
Her research invites us to reflect on what it means to be human, in body, soul and essence. Far removed from academic techniques, her universe is dominated by figurative art with naïf overtones, creating false collages in which the body is the central protagonist. She embraces imperfection because, for the artist, imperfection reveals creativity. What is perfect does not grow; it becomes stagnant.
