Hock
Erika Hock (Kyrgyzstan, 1981) works across sculpture, architecture, tapestry and furniture, creating structures that question how we relate to objects and spaces. Trained at the art academies in Münster and Düsseldorf and at HISK in Ghent, her practice brings together formal precision and a keen sensitivity to materials.
She has exhibited at Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, Skulpturenmuseum Marl, Salzburger Kunstverein, Kunsthalle Lingen, Rita Urso Gallery and L21, and has taken part in projects at Bundeskunsthalle Bonn, Kunstmuseum Ravensburg, Wiels and Es Baluard. Her distinctions include the NRW Art Award, the Nam June Paik Award, grants from Kunststiftung NRW and Stiftung Kunstfonds, and residencies at CCA Andratx and Schloss Ringenberg.
