Hedda Hørran (b. 1989, NO) holds a BFA in Fine Art from the Trondheim Academy of Fine Art and an MFA from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. She has also graduated from the University of Southeast Norway with a program in creative writing.

Hørrans work method is worldbuilding. Through installation, sculpture, texts and performances she creates a kind of scenography, in which an anarchic narrative unfolds. Her work functions as a memento mori, while simultaneously attempting to transgress and blur the boundaries between life and death, referencing among others George Batilles Eroticism, Jack Halberstams Wild Things: The Disorder of Desire and Ruth Kinnas The Government of No One: The Theory and Practice of Anarchism.

Hørrans work is constructed from found materials and through the manipulation of this. She focuses on creating immersive spatial experiences rich in details and easter eggs, aiming to reveal the transient and perishable.

Through her work she questions how humans approach the world: how nature and objects, also people, seemingly are perceived and treated as resources—things to be used until they no longer can be, and then seemingly completely lose their value. Humor and care play a central role in this, and the work is in a constant state of tug of war between tragedy and comedy, dystopia and utopia.

Hørran has previously exhibited at, among others, the Norwegian Sculptors Society (NO), Spriten Kunsthall (NO), Isafjordur Art Museum (IS), Heerz Tooya (BG), Celsius Projects (SE) and Hinterconti (DE). Upcoming projects for 2026 include exhibitions at Telemark Art Centre (NO) and the Association of Visual Artists Oslo (NO).
