Miyares
Kiko Miyares was born on 27 April 1977 in Llanes, Asturias. He holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country.
Trained as a painter, he gradually incorporated sculpture—primarily working with wood—into his practice. Over time, the possibilities of representation have become a central concern in his work. The path between the automatic and the planned has given way to a way of working that moves between manual labor and increasingly complex systems of planning. The figures initially depicted in his work progressively transform into raw material, becoming constructive elements in their own right.
