Aguilera

Sophie Aguilera Lester (London, 1984) is a Barcelona based artist and a Fine Arts graduate from the University of Barcelona. She has held numerous exhibitions both in Spain and internationally. In 2018 she was selected as the Spanish representative at European Ceramic Context in Bornholm, Denmark, and in 2019 she received the National Ceramics Prize in the emerging artist category from the Spanish Association of Ceramics (AeCC).

She has collaborated with urban art collective Boa Mistura and travelled to the United States as an artist in residence at the Archie Bray Foundation, a pioneering centre for research and production in contemporary sculpture and ceramics.

Highlights of her professional career include the technical development of the limited edition for Leiva’s album Cuando te muerdes el labio, nominated for a Latin Grammy in the Best Packaging category, and her collaboration with Cartier, for whom she created a ceramic installation for the brand’s new store on Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona.
