Viani
Viani is a Spanish-Italian artist of Venezuelan origin whose experience of exile and search for freedom has deeply shaped his work. After leaving a politically oppressive environment, he found in painting a space to express his voice with complete freedom, developing a bold, non-figurative language. His practice thus becomes a gesture of emancipation, reflecting struggle, transformation and an identity forged between resistance and personal rebirth.
His thick, gestural brushstrokes, clearly rooted in Expressionism and working with a palette dominated by black and white, convey intense emotional contrasts: love and rage, freedom and constraint. His work embodies the constant evolution of the self, showing how identity is built and rebuilt amid political and personal upheaval. For Viani, art is both a tool and a metaphor for liberation, inviting viewers into a profoundly dynamic, transformative experience of freedom.
