Francesc Rosselló (b. 1994, Mallorca) is an artist based in Mallorca, Spain. He studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona from 2012 to 2016. Rosselló’s luminous and bold work is deeply influenced by his color blindness. Counterintuitively, this condition has fostered an intense fascination with color; his graphic, assertive compositions seem to vibrate with energy.
Influenced by the visual language of illustration, as well as comics and manga, his works unfold fantastical narratives in fragmentary form, prompting viewers to imagine the moments before and after each depicted scene. Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, Rosselló often places landscapes—both urban and natural—at the center of his compositions. In a distinctive approach, he interweaves settings and figures to evoke fleeting moments in time, shaped to a great extent by the environments in which they occur.
His practice also reveals a strong engagement with the history of painting. By incorporating classical references such as busts and columns, he plays with motifs drawn from the Renaissance and later periods. His subject matter frequently addresses timeless human concerns, including the mythological relationship between humankind and nature, alluding to the Enlightenment concept of the sublime while recontextualizing it within a contemporary framework.
