Óscar Florit (Palma de Mallorca, 1977) develops a form of painting structured around energy, precision and the presence of gesture. His work is built from circular, oval and quadrangular forms with soft edges, shapes that evoke eroded stones as much as clouds, stains, hollows or signs that appear and disappear within the canvas. These forms contain an internal rhythm, a tension and a sequence of decisions that he recognises as his own. Painting thus becomes a living system in which each form responds to another, each colour generates a counterpoint and the empty spaces activate the surface.

His approach begins with observation, with a deliberate search for the smallest productive error and with a balance between control and intuition. The painting is complete when the energy settles, when tensions find their place and when the image is able to breathe without the need to add anything more.
