ABSOLUT X THE OTHER HALF

6th-9th March

ABSOLUT X THE OTHER HALF

For the fourth consecutive year, UVNT art Fair and ABSOLUT Vodka are teaming up once again to support artistic creation and contemporary art.

In this context, Absolut launches the limited edition ABSOLUT WARHOL, inspired by a 1985 painting attributed to Andy Warhol, rediscovered in 2020. This bottle celebrates the historic collaboration between the brand and the artist, fusing past and present. It also introduces ‘The Other Half’, a creative platform that invites artists to complete the other half of Warhol's work, promoting co-creation, creativity and inclusion.

Therefore, Angel Toren is the artist selected to complete ‘The Other Half’ of Warhol's work, challenging techniques, conceptual positions, aesthetic languages or emotional impulses to mix creatively and continue Andy Warhol's legacy, which can be seen within the fair. In addition, the brand will be present with a ‘gallery / cocktail bar’ where we will discover in addition to the piece by Angel Toren, approved by the Andy Warhol Fondation, we will have the opportunity to discover 4 other works of art ‘invited’ to the fair and selected by Absolut International, all while enjoying the ‘classic’ cocktails Absolut Mule, Bloody Mary and Vodka Tonic. Three spontaneous, fun, fresh cocktails, with personality and a little spicy, that will become for the ‘love of art’ the most exceptional tribute to the beauty of mixing.

  • Ángel Toren

Ángel Toren is an urban artist who follows in the wake of a certain tradition of advertising mural painting. The kind that used to be hand-painted by skilled painters. Often the same ones who painted the signage of theatres, cinemas and shop signs. And the same ones who today leave traces and evidence of their work on the walls of buildings or on the ground. This is where Toren comes in.

His training in graphic design and his interest in typography has led to the development of a work that moves between pictorial abstraction and certain resources/errors of digital work. Repetitions, optical games, wefts, geometry, chromatic palettes, perspectives and three-dimensions that, in the street, appear as large adjustment cards that capture the viewer's attention. Organic, graphic and metallic real screen savers.
